Monster Island, The Asylum’s mockbuster for 2019, was released in the same time frame as Godzilla King of the Monsters. Monster Island, a fictional island on which a monster lives, is the story.


Asylum has the budget for a large kid's dinner and uses it (more information) well. It focuses on a few characters and keeps its big stars in one set, where they can record all sequences during lunch. The Asylum is not likely to be too successful in this kaiju genre.
